Perfect for sports enthusiasts or anyone seeking a laid-back style, this unisex tee is a stylish homage to the beloved hockey team. From the brand: The Story Originally part of the Eastern Hockey League (EHL) and Southern Hockey League (SHL) from 1954-1977 (the franchise played as the Baltimore Clippers, Charlotte Rebels and Charlotte Clippers before becoming the Checkers in 1960), the Checkers returned to Charlotte in the ECHL (this was a new franchise) in 1993. The club was owned by a consortium headed by local auto dealer and NASCAR team owner felix Sabates , with former Charlotte Hornets president Carl Scheer and NASCAR drivers Richard and Kyle Petty among the minority partners. The team won the 1996 ECHL Championship. The Checkers franchise was dissolved in 2010 to make way for the new AHL Charlotte Checkers who were formerly the Albany River Rats. Crafted with the intention of being the softest shirt in your lineup, our signature tees are made with premium airlume (for softness) and ringspun (for durability) cotton combined with poly to make the perfect tee 👌 that wears and feels like a well-worn favorite. Our garments are printed with inks that actually blend into the fabric giving it more character and true vintage look with every wash.
