Porcupine quills were used on clothing, accessories and birch bark containers. The Mi’kmaw were often referred to as the “porcupine people”, so much so that the quillwork has always been highly desired by all. $1 from every t-shirt will go to the Nu-mi-quai-ni-mak Fund (“I remember them fund”) administered by the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation (NCTR).
