This high quality fabric was sourced from a mill in Japan with a rich history dating back to the mid 19th century. The weight is perfect; not too heavy or too light, making it an ideal piece for year round wear. It features a wide leg, high rise, and standard length, reminiscent of styles from that era . It is finished with tonal triple needle lap seam construction; a finishing detail commonly seen on vintage usmc fatique pants . Not one detail of this piece was overlooked. A common approach at Samuel Zelig is creating clothing that we would consider “Dream Vintage”.  Our idea for The Duffle Pant was, “What if a Military/Navy duffel bag from the 1940’s, covered in numerous illustrations and repairs, was cut and sewn into a pair of pants?” The pant features both embroidered illustrations and signatures in varying styles. We also tried out a new style of embroidery we’ve never done before: machine embroidery that is made specifically to look like hand made repairs. These repairs use a slightly darker contrast fabric and tonal embroidery stitches to mimic repairs commonly seen on the true vintage bags.
