Vena Cava

Vena Cava was a New York-based fashion brand founded in 2003 by designers Lisa Mayock and Sophie Buhai, both graduates of Parsons School of Design. The brand was celebrated for its distinctive feminine yet striking aesthetic, drawing inspiration from vintage garments, nature, and graphic design. Known for its elegant materials, attention to detail, and unique prints, Vena Cava offered a range of clothing, with a particular emphasis on dresses, skirts, and T-shirts. The brand achieved international recognition, was sold in over 150 retailers globally, and participated in events like Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. Vena Cava definitively closed in 2014, with its designers subsequently pursuing other ventures.
