K9 Quilt of Honor® Honoring Law Enforcement, Military, and Fire Search & Rescue Working K9s
The K9 Quilt of Honor® (QOH) is a nonprofit organization under CERT Ministry that recognizes Law Enforcement, Military, and Fire/S&R K9s and their handlers for their willingness to serve our communities, states, and country, and to stand in harm’s way to help keep us all safer.
This program started with Kobi, a K9 deputy, who retired from the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office (Florida) at the height of the pandemic in June of 2020, when law enforcement was facing challenges. Carolyn felt someone needed to share with K9 Deputy Kobi and Sgt. Brian (handler) that some people still respected and valued their service. So, the “K9 Quilt of Honor” began.
Since 2024, quilters have presented the “K9 Quilt of Honor” in 27 States, and three Countries: the United States, Canada, and Australia. The quilts have gone to local, state, and federal agencies'
