Product Description

Inspired by wartime history, this Type A-3 cap features a structured 6-panel crown crafted from durable 100% cotton herringbone twill. Designed for functionality, the brim can be flipped upward to avoid obstruction in tight workspaces. Featuring reinforced seams and an authentic USAAF ink stamp, this hat combines a rugged aesthetic with practicality. Perfect for both casual outings and vintage-inspired looks, it embodies a unique blend of heritage and style. From the brand: Adopted in 1942 for the U.S. Army Air Corps, the Type A-3 was the cap worn by aircraft mechanics on flight lines and in hangars across both theatres of the Second World War. In the winter rotation it was paired with a herringbone twill coverall and a sheepskin D-1 jacket. Wartime photographs almost invariably show the brim flipped upward - a practical adjustment that kept it from catching on engine cowlings, fuselage panels and other obstructions inside tight working quarters. 100% Cotton, 8.5oz herringbone twill 6-Panel crown with structered brim Reinforced taped seams inside the crown USAAF ink stamp on rear panel Made in Japan Size 7 1/4 = M Size 7 1/2 = L BR02536
