It is an iconic item for the brand, but this shirt features Wabash stripes—a pattern created by discharge printing dots in a striped pattern—on a solid chambray base (where the warp and weft threads are the same color). Wabash stripes were commonly seen in workwear from the early 1900s through the 1930s. While many workers loved them for their rugged appearance and ability to hide stains, they gradually disappeared because the discharge printing process was unsuitable for mass production. Not only does it pair perfectly with denim, but its versatility makes it easy to coordinate with any outfit. And since it uses indigo, you can enjoy its aging process over time.
