series of sculptural mesh forms encasing precious stones, the concept for the Mesh Earth Earrings was born from the desire to refocus our collective energies on the planet and our symbolic and literal interconnectedness. Our lives are all enmeshed.
From afar, the earrings
appear to be delicate textured orbs, but upon close looking reveal intricate longitude and latitude lines
crossing
continental forms, with distinct hemispheres depicted on each ear. Airy, lightweight and cleverly structural, the Mesh Earth globes are delightfully comfortable to wear with a 3/4 sphere shape ideally suited to cup the ear.
As always, no detail is too minute to be considered by RFORM in their pursuit of technical perfection, and globes went through several iterations to achieve exquisite balance and beauty.
