From the brand: The Modesto Fit is Freenote's newest denim cut in their (now) 7 style lineup. They call it their "workwear fit", and we're inclined to agree, as these feature a high rise and a full top block with wide, straight legs. They'll fit over boots without issue, and have enough room to really move around in, being pretty unrestrictive in general.
The details are important too, and they weren't skipped - from the copper rivets to the flat-felled seams and 1/8" double needle stitching, the construction is extremely solid, durable and robust while remaining traditional. They have the classic five pocket configuration, with acorn shaped back pockets and a copper button fly. Inside, the pockets are cut from a vintage Japanese herringbone stripe fabric.
This time around, it's made from a 15oz dark brown selvedge denim that Freenote have sourced from Japan. A little stiff and sturdy at first, it will soften nicely with a wash, gaining a more relaxed drape without losing their heft and durability. Featuring a dark brown outer weave and an even darker inner layer, they promise to develop unique, high contrast fades over time.
