Product Description

This meticulously handwoven belt showcases a vibrant textile crafted using a traditional Guatemalan backstrap loom, beautifully paired with premium vegetable-tanned leather. The design ensures durability and unique character as it ages, forming a personalized fit for all waist sizes, suitable for both men and women. Celebrating its Mayan heritage through the name Cabrakán, this accessory not only serves a functional purpose but also adds a touch of cultural richness to any outfit. From the brand: The textile is meticulously handwoven using a tradition Guatemala backstrap loom. This is then fastened onto premium vegetable tanned leather that is hand-tied using a fine leather lace around the border of the belt. All of our belts only wear better over time as the natural fit forms to all waist sizes for both men and women. Behind the Name: Cabrakán was a Mayan god of earthquakes and mountains.  He was the son of the gods Vucub Caquix and Chimalmat and plays a significant role early in the Popol Vuh where he is defeated by the Hero Twins as is his brother Zipacnagod of mountains and earthquakes.
