From the brand: W'Menswear was founded by Lauren Yates in 2015, born out of a desire to produce high quality, heritage-inspired garments for women - with a nuanced and ever-evolving perspective on femininity at the intersections of fashion, workwear, military garments, and history. Introducing the new Spring/Summer '24 Collection: Pawai Paratroopers - a celebration of Thailand's first group of female paratroopers, whose motto was "to prove that women can do anything as well as a man, no matter what affair. Whatever the task, be it on land, in water, or in the air." (Paratrooper Ampai Sombat, Freedom Magazine 1961). Through their action, these women became cultural figureheads of radical change during the 1960s, inspiring new attitudes towards women and social progress throughout Thailand.
The Engineers Jacket is a brilliant single-pleat workwear jacket with a slightly cropped fit and a ton of utility. Featuring all metal snaps at the placket and cuffs, it has two external hand pockets and two internal chest pockets - with a pencil slot cleverly integrated into the front yoke of the jacket. The fit is easy, with enough room in the torso to layer, but not so much as to exaggerate or alter your silhouette. The off-white edition also features contrasting sleeves, cut from a tonally complimentary cotton herringbone.
It's made from a pre-washed 100% cotton Thai herringbone fabric, with 100% cotton Japanese jacquard sleeves. Immediately soft and broken in, the rinsed finish removes the majority of shrinkage from the fabric, taking any guesswork out of sizing. Both materials are excellent for warmer weather, breathing easily and reflecting sunlight.
