From the brand: The Freenote Deck Pant is their straight leg chino, a classic and roomy trouser cut with a medium high rise and full thigh. The fit is spot on, not too wide or too narrow, coming in just a touch wider than what we'd consider to be slim-straight. Compared to Freenote's Slim Fit Worker's Chino, these are a touch wider all around. They also feature some great construction details — like the clean finish interior with binding, and the heavy flat-felled seams throughout.
They're made from a 14oz cotton slub fabric, well within the realm of what we'd consider a heavyweight chino, these feel substantial without being stiff or restrictive. The fabric is finished with a rinse to account for shrinkage and to help relax the material, producing some gentle early fading throughout that will continue to develop over time with wear. Inside, the pocket bags are sewn up from a lighter-weight 100% cotton Japanese herringbone, to avoid adding unnecessary bulk to the top block.
The trims are equally on par with the fit and fabric: custom metal buttons, an SB Tanning Co. leather flasher, a brass fly zip, and custom woven labels inside. These run slightly larger than tag size through the waist, and we suggest going down one size for the best fit. Minimal shrinkage is expected with future washing and drying (as a result of that initial rinse), so don't worry about the fit changing over time unless you plan on hot washing and tumble drying these, in which case they may continue to shrink.
