We are honored to share the beauty and important history of the Ainu — indigenous people of Japan, who mainly reside in Hokkaido (the Northern island of Japan), some parts of the Kuril Islands, and Sakhalin.
In Ainu culture, these intricate designs (also known as auishi) are believed to ward off evil spirits. They served as the inspiration for this collection.
