The 16-oz. fabric from Scotland's historic mill Halley Stevensons replicates vintage Swiss Army rucksack material. When cotton was scarce during WWII, the Swiss used nettle and flax yarns to weave exceptionally strong canvas for bags and packs. This special-edition piece blends nettle and cotton yarns in a dense weave with a mottled “salt & pepper” effect that is true to the original.
The interior seams are reinforced with our iconic Tin Cloth canvas to prevent fraying and wear. Grab handle and trims are made from thick Bridle Leather. This premium leather was vegetable-tanned in bark solutions by Pennsylvania's legendary Wickett & Craig and is strong enough for horse tack. Heavy-duty #10 YKK® zipper.
