The Rockford 007 (45mm)
Product Description
Discover the Rockford 007 pocket watch, a striking fusion of timeless craftsmanship and rich history. Built in 1910, this watch features a 17-jewel movement and a vintage dial with a distinctive hairline crack, embodying the charm of yesteryear. Housed in a sturdy sandblasted stainless steel case and complemented by an Oxblood leather strap from Horween, this piece effortlessly blends elegance and nostalgia. A rare find from Illinois, it captures the essence of American watchmaking heritage. From the brand: What makes the Rockford 007 unique: Rockford didn't make very many watches as compared to the other Great American Watch Companies, and they went out of business in 1915, which was during the prime of Elgin, Illinois, Waltham, Hamilton etc. This 17 jewel movement is one of the few made during Rockford's prime and was manufactured in 1910. The dial shows its age with a hairline crack across 3 and 4 o'clock. For being 115 years old, this is a good example of why they say "They don't make them like they used to..." 1910 was the year work began on Chicago's famous "Navy Pier." Can you imagine being a banker looking out the window at that construction you helped finance and checking the time on this brand new Rockford pocket watch made by your favorite watch company located about 90 miles away? Spectacular. We put this piece of Illinois history inside our sandblasted stainless steel case and used an Oxblood leather strap. The leather was also made in Chicago... a Horween product. Horween was started in 1905, so... yes, they were there too!
