From the brand: This denim is made as a finer alternative to Studio D'Artisan's flagship 15oz selvedge denim, and is woven with Suvin Gold cotton, the world's finest super-long staple cotton. Suvin Gold has the thinnest and longest fibers of any cotton, which gives it an incredibly soft hand combined with the natural oils in the yarns, granting an incredibly soft hand, silky luster, and organic texture. SDA takes these Suvin Gold threads and twists them together to create double threads, which are then used for the warp. The weft (underside) of the fabric incorporates American Supima cotton, another super-long staple cotton that offers significant durability. Woven together into a selvedge denim using vintage power looms in Okayama, this fabric offers the softest hand of any D'Artisan denim, and should fade beautifully with wear, with this fabric being known for producing unique vertical fade streaks.
Since D1837 is an alternative to SD-108 that incorporates super-long staple Suvin Gold cotton instead of SDA's usual 15oz denim, it features D'Artisan's "08" relaxed tapered fit. One of our most successful fits, SDA's relaxed taper features a high rise, roomy hip and thigh, and a taper from the lower thigh to the leg opening. Perfect for guys who dislike a loose leg opening but either require or desire a loose top block, this is our most successful SDA cut, and fits most everyone quite well. With a leg opening that is just wide enough to look great with boots, this is an ideal cut for those of you who like a taper. These jeans feature branded enamel buttons and branded rivets, a deerskin leather patch, and a redline selvedge ID.
