This denim showcases a lot of uneven vertical slub, often called "rain texture" thanks to the stripe-like vertical slub, which will fade uniquely in contrast to the flatter, less-slubby sections of the denim. "PER-EX" is a version of PBJ's 15oz Extra Slubby denim that features a reddish-brown weft, as it has been dyed with persimmon tannins, a traditional Japanese natural-dye techinique known as "Kakishibu." This leaves the outside of the jeans with a somewhat navy or purple hue, due to the interwoven indigo and persimmon dyed yarns.
