From the brand: These light weight statement earrings are composed of hand dyed lace, cotton or jute fringe and a twisted and cut brass circle disk. A complex play with textures and materials that sits from the front to back of the earlobe in an illusory effect.
Inspired by the African Savannah and a mix of South African and tiki interior design elements, these unusual earrings sit nicely on the side of the neck. Though they are large, their position and angle mean they mostly show from the sides and look filiform from the front (long and thin).
Please note that the beige fringe has been updated from a linen blend to a jute option as we ran out of the original vintage fringe. This means the fringe is a bit more rough but is more sturdy and durable as well.
Surgical steal posts are soldered onto the brass disk.
Comes with gold plated butterfly backings.

This Ilk carefully crafts wearable art in limited quantities in her Montreal studio. Sourcing rare fabrics, designing, hand dyeing, meticulously treating against fraying, stiffening, hand sewing, and assembling are all part of the process. The sheen and softness of the lace is preserved wherever possible. Due to the nature of our production method, each item may vary slightly. Most of the pieces are limited editions as they are created from vintage lace as well as other vintage or exotically sourced materials. There may be slight discolouration or scuffs due to this vintage nature. This is part of the jewelry’s uniqueness and story.
