From the brand: As a tribute to Kobe's everlasting impact on and off the court, Nike launches the "Halo" series every year on his birthday, August 23rd. This year the collection follows up on the the Kobe 8 from last year with the Kobe 9 Elite Protro "Halo".
The ninth version of Kobe's signature is built with an all white Flyknit upper with tonal no-sew overlays, FlyWire, tonal embroidery on the tongue branding, jeweled swooshes on the sides, HALO and Kobe's signature on the inside tongue and a black woven heel cap. The white sole unit has been updated with a drop-in React foam midsole instead of the original's Lunarlon cushioning, while the rubber outsole features updated traction for better court response.
