John Holmes ranks among the most famous and prolific adult film performers, with documented credits for at least 573 films. During the 1970s, as porn became chic, he was reputedly earning as much as $3,000 per day and mixing with Hollywood film stars and famous musicians at night. He invested his money in various projects including the short lived American Sound Recording Studio in West Hollywood with the intention of starting a career in music. His subsequent cocaine consumption quickly become an increasingly serious problem for his career.
