12 years ago, I was fortunate to ride my friend Ryu's '59 ironhead chopper around the beautiful beach town of Kamakura, out side of Tokyo. One especially memorable stop was at Blue Groove Vintage Cycles - a small two story shop overflowing with an amazing collection of crusty original Harley choppers, customs, stock bikes, parts, guitars etc. ran by the king of cool - Taka. A friendship was formed over a shared love of old bikes, music and beach town life.
