Woven on a rare small circular knitting machine, the tube body base of this collaboration features a weave consisting of heavy slub yarns to yield a fabric face full of texture. Produced at the epicenter of Japanese cotton jersey knits in Wakayama, Japan, the proprietary fabric is an original woven tube knit. A breathable & textured cotton jersey, the seamless construction provides an incredibly comfortable wear. Drawing inspiration from classic tee’s commonly found in the 60s, ribbing is featured on the collar and pocket. Using a local sewing machine, a method referred to as “Oyako Binder Sewing” is applied where the ribbing is double layered before being sewn onto the garment. Going the extra mile with single stitching on the shoulder seams and double-wrapped narrow piping ensures the pressure points will not give, and the general shape and structure of the garment will maintain after extended wears and washes. The collar opening is on the looser side, but the collar construction ensures the neckline will not sag over time.
