The Tottenville Pirates are the athletic teams of Tottenville High School on Staten Island, New York. Located at the southern tip of the island, Tottenville has long been connected to the water, with views across the Arthur Kill toward New Jersey, and a history shaped by shipyards and harbour traffic.
With a cutlass clenched between teeth and a hard stare, the Tottenville Pirate became a fitting figure for a waterfront town. Sailing from shore to shore, the Pirates carried the name of Tottenville onto playing fields and athletic contests throughout the region with the same stubborn spirit as the crews that once worked the harbor.
