L’or 10K présente une finition mate avec une belle patine, soulignant le caractère ancien de la pièce.
Vers 1890, la pièce était à l’origine un bouton de manchette, converti en pendentif par retrait du dos et ajout d’une bélière en or 14K. L’emblème appartient au Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks (BPOE), un ordre fraternel fondé par un groupe d’acteurs et de divertisseurs en 1868. Les boutons de manchette d’origine ont été réalisés par M. Hammerslough, bijoutier à Anaconda, Montana.
