The HELLA bag by Emily Denton encapsulates vibrant creativity and connection. Handmade in Portland, this one-of-a-kind piece features a dazzling assortment of glass beads, vintage beanie babies, and intricately crafted charms, drawing inspiration from disco culture and underground raves. The use of iron chains and hardware adds a modern touch, making this bag not just an accessory but a statement of empowerment and movement. Perfect for anyone looking to celebrate individuality and self-expression. From the brand: HELLA bag by Emily Denton. Emily Denton is an artist, musician, and somatic practitioner based in Portland, OR, inspired by the intersections of art, movement, and community. She co-owned Actual Pain, a Seattle-based clothing brand (2007–2015), and founded Poseurs, a donation-based yoga community and fanzine that produced over 50 issues and thrived in Seattle from 2014–2022. Her current project, Hella, draws on the therapeutic power of the dance floor. Inspired by disco’s roots in the social awakenings of the 1960s, the Club Kid scene of the ’90s, and her own experiences at underground raves, her work celebrates movement, expression, and connection. Through beaded bags and charms, she creates sparks of light in the dark—reminders that we are most powerful and transformative when we feel safe to be seen, resourced, and in motion.
