The Real McCoy's reproduction is true to the Spec No. J-8279A, the second MA-1 model made for only one year in 1957. This model features wool knit ribbing (not acrylic which would be used later) and a cotton wool pile interlining that makes the MA-1 incredibly warm jacket.
The outer nylon shell is made from a custom produced fabric for The Real McCoy's that replicates the original Nylon 66 that was invented by DuPont and used on the era's military jackets. The jacket features black oxide dot buttons and 1950s Talon zippers with black leather pull tabs.
