Product Description

Inspired by 1940s blue-collar workwear, this utility jacket features a simplified design and a linear silhouette showcasing meticulous stitching. Made from thick katuragi twill fabric, it incorporates the frottage technique to reflect the unique texture of Aji stone. With uncoated iron buttons that develop a beautiful patina over time, this jacket blends heritage craftsmanship with modern versatility, making it an essential piece for stylish layering both in urban settings and outdoors. From the brand: The entrance of T.T Gion Store is paved with Aji stone from Kagawa Prefecture, one of the world’s finest granites with a history dating back to the reconstruction of Iwashimizu Hachimangu Shrine in the 14th century. To reflect the stone’s unique texture in our clothing, we used the frottage technique to transfer its surface pattern onto katuragi (twill) fabric. This item is based on a 1940s coverall jacket from Taiga Takahashi’s archival collection. Originally designed as blue-collar workwear, coveralls often featured inner pockets and pen holders. However, the 1940s version they reconstructed has a simplified design, reflecting the resource-scarce era around World War II. T.T preserved the jacket's linear silhouette with meticulous stitching to echo the coarse tailoring of the time. Made from comfortably thick, textured katuragi (twill) fabric, the straight yarn results in a clean, defined twill pattern. The iron buttons and back pieces, marked with original engravings, are uncoated to develop a beautiful aged patina over time.
