From the brand: The popularity of recreational camping surged in the mid-20th Century. With more Americans living in urban areas than ever before, combined with the proliferation of automobiles giving access to areas that were previously out of reach to most Americans. Camps would begin opening up across the country, catering to long weekend fishing trips and marine activities with a chance for families to socialise together after emerging from the other side of war. As keepsakes, many camps would design branded merchandise that would later become cherished souvenirs. Constructed post-war by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Lake Eufaula stands within the boundaries of the old Creek Nation and the old Choctaw Nation. The history below - Indian life, outlaw gangs, Civil War battle and the treasures by Standing Rock were hidden to make way for the Lake, opened by Lyndon B. Johnson in September of ‘64. Our JOE MCCOY TEE / LAKE EUFAULA souvenir tee has been made from an 8oz cotton cloth and is cut for a classic boxy 50s fit. The Lake Eufaula design has been rubber-printed by hand in our Kobe-based factory. 100% Cotton Cotton sewing thread LAKE EUFAULA rubber print Made in Japan
