From the brand: The M-65 evolved from the M-1943 Field Coat via the M-1951, and was in service from 1965 until 2009. The color is officially “Olive Green 107”. Most importantly, it is the source code for a vast swath of modern menswear, with variants appearing from every brand, and in every mutation you can imagine.
From the M-1951, the major changes were a stowable hood, snap closures on the 4 main pockets, and velcro cuffs. The collar transitioned from a shirt-style collar to an upright collar. The Epaulets found on most M-65 Field Jackets were not present on the early models - these were only produced for about a year before being updated, making epaulet-free models quite rare.
