The California Institute of Modern Art (CIMA) opened its new campus in Century City, Los Angeles in 1965, marking a significant moment in the city’s art scene. The myth of California— and particularly of southern California—looms large in the modern psyche.
In 1975 the gallery held the biggest Pop Art retrospective to date.
