Since WWII the US Airforce have had a base at Yakota in Japan. The Vietnam War
resulted in an increased combat and airlift aircraft presence at the base. Yokota was used for ferrying B-52 Stratofortresses
to Southeast Asia along with being a base for deployed F-105 Thunderchief squadrons. The base PX or store would sell Japan made t shirts, patches and jackets to pilots and ground crew featuring a variety of characters including US military favorite Snoopy.
