Topanga Canyon Arts Club was established in the canyon in 1970. An independent collective of mixed media artists, they produced politically motivated prints, paintings and pottery that was sold in a variety of Los Angeles’ underground galleries and art stores. They were also responsible for organising community fundraisers and political protests in LA during this period.
