From the brand: We have created a special rope-dyed, indigo x indigo yarn by using both natural and synthetic indigo together in a special technique. The warp is our original high-twist yarn, with its rough and uneven texture, while the weft is a special slubby yarn that partly employs our organic “Samurai Cotton” that we grow by hand here in Japan. Our Japanese cotton is really neppy due to its relatively short fiber length and has a rough look. In combination however with the rich and beautiful indigo used here, the end result is a uniqueness and depth of color that cannot be achieved by indigo alone; indeed, it is greater than the sum of its parts. The selvedge line is also made from this denim warp, which means its color too will gradually fade with washing, wear, and time.
