From the brand: For Autumn/Winter 2024, we are delighted to present an intriguing design update to our ever-popular Aran Fisherman's Sweater – the Boatbuilder. With the new Handstitch Boatbuilder the distinctive ribbed raglan originally designed for physical flexibility while fishing or currach-building is now highlighted further by a unique handstitch design created by our artisans here in Inis Meáin. Practical and supremely comfortable, this relaxed fit sweater has a high roll neck for warmth. Crafted with super-premium Cashmere and Merino yarn from Italian heritage producer, Filati Biagioli Modesto, made to the highest European environmental standards using only organic dyes.
Available in Black Mix, a creatively complex colour-way involving dark brown, charcoal, black and a rainbow of multi-coloured flecks, over-layered with a bright orange cashmere handstitch for maximum colour pop. Also available in Silver Fleck, a stunning fossil-coloured light grey marl, with subtle navy and soft yellow flecks, contrasting with a cashmere blue handstitch along the raglan. The handstitching is carefully carried out once the piece is completed, so if you decide you would prefer the sweater without the contrasting handstitch feature, you can either ask us on purchase to remove it, or remove it easily at home. Designed, made and hand-finished in our Aran Islands workshop.
