Rediscover vintage charm with the William Ellery Archival Fleece jacket, crafted from rare NOS fabric that echoes the outdoor gear revolution of the 70s. Its soft, pill-influenced fleece and classic shearling-style pockets offer both comfort and style. Featuring a convenient nylon chest pocket and corduroy accents, this jacket combines functionality with retro aesthetic. Made in the USA, it embraces a distinct character while providing enduring wear, making it a perfect choice for contemporary outdoor adventures. From the brand: William Ellery Archival Fleece Last year, we heard rumors of a few yards of NOS vintage fleece found in a warehouse. The perfect oatmeal, reminiscent of the kinda fleece made in the early 80s. The kinda fleece made by the collaboration of a company in Maine, and a company in California. The kinda fleece thats soft, and has a slight pill right off the roll. Like we haven't seen in many years. We don't know it's birthday, but were just glad to have it. This fabric was the catalyst for a year's long study of the Outdoor Gear Revolution that started in the 70's. We felt it was only right to make this jacket in the style it was invented for: A classic, pile toward the body, fit with shearling style sewn pockets. A button close chest nylon pocket, and a double wale corduroy under collar. The navy version of the jacket has a navy corduroy under collar, while the olive has a dark almond corduroy. The zipper is sewn in a style that will be easy to replace, and each jacket comes with a small square of fleece for patching. We were lucky enough to come across this fabric once, and know that we may never again. Model is 6'4" and is wearing a size large. He normally wears a size Medium, and should wear this jacket in medium, but we sampled it in size large. Fits true to size. Navy details are applied in photoshop, but reflect the real materials. 100% Polyester Made in USA of vintage fabric This fabric is of a different era, and pills. there is a bell curve to the wear, that has heavy pilling, that eventually subsides. Its the character of the time, so lean into it, or lean out. Sizing: All measurements are taken externally with the garment laid flat. The pile is about 1/2", so take that into account when determining your size. If you are on the cusp, sizing up is reccommended.
