From the brand: The Calico is a Freenote riff on the single sawtooth western shirt. Though it may be their slimmest fitting western, we wouldn't call it a slim fit, it just runs more trim than the more relaxed Modern Western Shirt. The athletic fit lends itself towards being tucked in, and looks great under a jacket, but the Calico relaxes well too - not being too long to wear untucked or with cuffed sleeves.
The fabric for this batch is a 8oz Japanese corduroy, woven from 100% cotton with a fairly dense 13 wale, it features a slightly stiff, dry hand that will continue to relax and soften considerably over time. As with any corduroy fabric, it insulates well, and will develop a handsome patina over time as the wales (ridges) of the corduroy wear down. To take the guesswork out of sizing, and to help jump-start the break-in process, Freenote have given each finished shirt a rinse before shipping them out.
Japanese pearl snaps, curved pocket details, and the usual Freenote 1/8” double needle stitching all work together to make this your new favorite western.
