The Protological Archetype range of garments are a series in which the garments are reduced to the bare essence of the item, representing each product category. This example of the concept, developed as a button front shirt, employs a new concept of cutting where the garment is reduced to the minimum seams necessary without compromising the fit or look of the product.
The collar of the shirt is one piece and is cut onto the body, the shirt has no side seam or underarm seam, but the entire body of the shirt is cut into one piece and shaped by contoured darts at strategic locations on the body of the shirt. The sleeve is a one piece constructed sleeve that retains all of the features of a traditional shirt sleeve but simplified according to the concept. The cuff is closed by a single button and loop closure that is not visible from the outside.
