From the brand: The original N1 deck jackets were produced for the US Navy in the early 1940s, and have been reproduced and reiterated on so many times that it's become an iconic silhouette. Iron Heart's version of the jacket remains a true reproduction, with the most significant addition being an interliner which provides increased wind resistance. The heavy oiling applied to the whipcord fabric increases the weight from 12oz to 14oz, while retaining a fair bit of flexibility with the added water resistance.
Iron Heart has adopted an eco-friendly, fluorine-free oiling process to replace a toxic chemical, achieving the same water repellency but resulting in a slightly waxier texture.
