From the brand: The Story
The Fort Lauderdale Strikers played at Lockhart Stadium from 1977 to 1983 before eventually folding in 1983. Even though the Fort Lauderdale Strikers were a strong team in the 1980 season, it wasn't enough to keep the red and gold in Fort Lauderdale. With players like Steve Zerhusen & Ray Hudson donning the red and gold in Fort Lauderdale, the Fort Lauderdale Strikers should have been able to fill seats. The reality however was much different and with low attendance, the Fort Lauderdale Strikers soon folded and became no more.
