This linen and viscose fabric comes from one of absolute top fabric suppliers in Italy.
It has irregular amounts of dark and light yarns in both the warp and the weft.
This creates an uneven small chequered pattern. Furthermore the yarns have different weights, so altogether it adds an uneven slightly crinkled surface.
