From the brand: Each season, during the development of our collections, we go through a testing process to tease out conceptual ideas, colours and production methods. With up to 20 separate cones needed to knit some of our intricate colourways, and a repertoire of almost 50 year's worth of sweater designs, we sometimes make versions of colours, or even styles that don't make it to final production. This creates a limited number of unique garments which we occasionally make available exclusively through our online store.
The Cashmere Pocket Sweater is influenced by the raised ridge potato beds and the enduring rusticity of life on Inis Meáin. Soil here is mostly man-made from sand and seaweed hauled up from the shore and spread on the island's limestone landscape. This is done repeatedly over decades, however the soil depth remains shallow and islanders must make raised ridges of earth to create enough depth to grow crops. Inspired by this tradition which continues on the island today, the Cashmere Pocket Sweater combines elegant roll finish details in a generous and relaxed silhouette, with a perfectly placed integrated chest pocket featuring a contrast trim and raised rib texture.
