The Twins achieved success that eluded their descendants, the original Washington Senators. Led by Harmon Killebrew's 25 home runs and pitcher Mudcat Grant's 21 wins, the team brought a pennant to the Twin Cities in only their fifth season since moving from the nation's capital.
