From the brand: It seems sad and desperate, but during the 1930’s depression, my grandma would go down to the local bar and get drunk men to throw pennies into her shirt hole like the one on this tank top. She was able to feed her whole family with those pennies during a brutal economic downturn and if she hadn’t done it, I would never have been born since they would have all starved to death. This tank top’s hole isn’t just a design quirk—it echoes a legacy of making do, a testament to how even the smallest resource, gathered in the most unconventional way, can change everything.

What is tencel?
Tencel is a natural fabric that comes from Eucalyptus tree pulp. The wood pulp is processed into fiber, then yarn, then fabric. What makes this process “closed loop” and environmentally friendly is that it recycles water and reuses the solvent at a recovery rate of more than 99%. Our soft, ribbed Tencel fabric is custom made and dyed by us. It’s comfy, breathable, stretchy, and natural. Eek-ho-friendly :)
How to take care of Tencel
Our Tencel garments are lazy-person friendly and do well when machine-washed and dried. But if you want your Tencel pieces looking brand new for years and years, we recommend that you hang dry them to preserve the color and fit.
