The shell fabric of this versatile favorite is built with lightweight 4-oz. cotton fabric from the United Kingdom's venerable British Millerain. Treated with a dry-hand feel wax, it turns away light rain and is virtually windproof. The insulation is made from 70% recycled content, which helps keep plastic bottles out of our landfills. The 100g Silver Eco™ is from the industry pioneer PrimaLoft®, which got its start by developing insulation to protect U.S. military troops and has been advancing the science of synthetic insulation ever since.
The Hyder Quilted Jac-Shirt maintains nearly all of its insulating ability even if it does get wet, and its compressibility allows it to be packed into tight spaces. We used snaps for the front closure and cuff adjustments because they're virtually fail-proof and can be operated with ease even while wearing gloves. The handwarmer pockets are located on the side seams for a streamlined, non-bulky fit and look and the chest pockets are protected by a snap-flap closure for security. For warmth and comfort against the neck, the collar is lined with 100% cotton Moleskin from Britain's historic mill, Brisbane Moss.
