From the brand: To a great extent, Iron Heart's ultra heavy flannel (UHF) shirts define the brand: heavy, rugged, but amazingly wearable. The 12oz fabric is woven with Aspero cotton from the foothills of the Andes mountains. It's double brushed on the interior and single brushed on the exterior, for a very soft yet substantial, thick, warm and windproof flannel.
Iron Heart is now using a reactive dyeing process for their UHF fabrics, instead of the direct dye technique used in previous seasons. Whereas the older fabrics showcased vibrant colourways that would fade and mellow with time, the newer, reactive-dyed fabrics hold their colour, and the dye won't age as drastically. To make up for this, Iron Heart's newer flannels feature muted, less-vibrant colourways from the start, giving each piece a more worn-in appearance from day one.
