Lined Mackinaw Wool Packer Coat - Red / Cream / Blue Plaid
Product Description
Experience timeless warmth and durability with this special-edition Lined Wool Packer Coat. Inspired by the iconic 1914 Mackinaw design, it features a striking plaid pattern and is crafted from tightly woven Mackinaw wool to fend off wind and water. The Alaskan Guide flannel lining adds extra insulation, making it perfect for cold weather adventures. With ample pockets and a unique caped construction, it combines functionality with classic style for the modern outdoorsman. From the brand: Our Lined Wool Packer Coat is a double-layer wool coat pulled from our archives and available in a special-edition seasonal plaid color. Based on our original 1914-patented Mackinaw Wool Cruiser, this warm coat retains the Cruiser's full complement of pockets and adds a double-layer cape over the shoulders and arms. Our original Packer began its legacy of warmth and durability nearly three decades ago protecting men on horseback from cold snowy weather on ranches and in the backcountry. This seasonal release is lined with our Alaskan Guide flannel for added warmth. The Packer is made with our Mackinaw Wool, a densely woven twill from sheep raised in regions with wide temperature swings. These sheep develop a fleece that can protect them year-round in hot and cold weather, which is precisely why their wool does such a great job of protecting people. The uncommonly tight weave creates a barrier to wind and water while maintaining outstanding breathability. The flannel lining is made from the same fabric used in our mainstay shirt trusted by sportsmen, tradesmen and Alaskan bush Pilots for 25 years. The natural sheepskin-shearling collar can be turned up and latched at the throat, creating a warm and comfortable barrier against freezing wind and snow that extends to ear-height. The four pockets, full-width back pocket, and caped construction creates two full layers of 24-oz. wool over the shoulders, arms, and torso for warmth. The rear hem is slit allows the coat to flare when seated for non-binding comfort. Fingertip length.
