"Sheep's Grey" is produced using naturally grey fleeces from Brenda Hsueh's flock at Black Sheep Farm. Typically a rare phenomenon, Hsueh has achieved an unusually high proportion of richly coloured wools in her flock through years of careful selective breeding. After shearing, the fleeces are processed and spun into a lofty, rustic multi-ply yarn at Wave Fibre Mill. Subtle variation in the surface of the yarn and the occasional inclusion of small pieces of hay are considered desirable artifacts of process, highlighting DLB's minimal, artisanal approach to production.
