Buzz Rickson's U.S. Army M-1943 'Dragon & Lady' Field Jacket - Olive Drab
Product Description
Inspired by the iconic M-1941, the 1943 Field Jacket offers a stylish oversized silhouette perfect for layering. Crafted from water-resistant cotton 'back satin,' it features a concealed button closure and a detachable hood for versatile wear. With four pleated patch pockets and a unique pin-up design reflecting Asian influences, this jacket marries functionality with a touch of history and art. From the brand: Born as the successor to the M-1941, the 1943 Field Jacket is a versatile, lightweight offering, which has here been faithfully recreated by the virtuosos at Buzz Rickson’s. Cut in an oversized shape, perfect for layering, this jacket offers a cotton ‘back satin’ outer shell, which boasts water resistant properties, which would have been essential in tropical warfare. To avoid snagging on accessories, the brand have reproduced the concealed button closure on the front, which is lined with a set of mil spec Urea buttons, while a throat tab allows the collar to be worn up for further protection. Four pleated patch pockets adorn the front, all with secured buttoned flaps, while a detachable hood is effortlessly buttoned into the shoulder epaulettes. Historically soldiers would use their clothing as canvases with designs reflecting their aircrafts, unit numbers or even girlfriends back home. This pin-up style design features a girl with two dragons showing the influence Asian culture and artwork was having on the soldiers designs.
