if you want to dig a bit deeper. This iconic jacket is cut to hip length to retain mobility while maximizing warmth. All of the features were honed through 2 years of active warfare in WW2, including the button windflap over the zipper, and the mid torso hand pockets.
To make this leather, hides are tanned in an excess of oils and then then finished with an aniline dye. This process doesn't use any other dye pigments, taking color purely from the aniline and gaining a handsome gloss thanks to the oils. Clocking in at about 1.4mm, this stiff leather will break in to a glove-like fit over time, conforming to the shape of the wearer's body.
Y'2's deck jacket features an alpaca/wool blend interior lining, with knit storm cuffs and a tonal mouton collar. Minimally ornamented, it's finished with tonal buttons, tonal thread, and a chinstrap collar that can be hidden away when not in use.
