The most elegant waterproof garment we've ever stocked, the Opera Raglan Coat is a seriously impressive piece of tailoring, with an attractive silhouette, excellent fit, and remarkable utility (because it's waterproof). Cut in a slip on raglan coat pattern, its the perfect shell for springtime, offering warmth and comfort without being too hot or heavy, breathing well thanks to its relatively lightweight fabric. Featuring a large box pleat the whole way down the back, the front has peak lapels and two external pockets with secret entrances into the inside of your jacket, allowing you to access your pant pockets without taking off or unbuttoning the coat.
It's made from a 100% wool waterproof fabric, developed by the Woolmark Company. A completely natural waterproof weave, it's produced by stretching the individual wool fibers with specialized equipment before allowing it to shrink and set, achieving extreme density that cannot be attained with conventional weaving methods. Being an entirely natural fabric, it also breathes and drapes exceptionally well, especially when compared to comparably waterproof synthetics.
It should also go without saying that a 100% wool waterproof fabric is far more sustainable than a synthetic counterpart, with a far lower environmental impact to produce. We also want to make clear that "waterproof" and "water-resistant" are distinct categories - being

, this fabric is able to completely resist moisture, with vulnerable areas like seams reinforced with tape to keep water out and near full body coverage.
The hardware is minimal, with tonal buttons at the cuffs and beneath the hidden placket and stainless zips at the two internal pockets. The inside is buggy-lined with a polyester mesh netting for extra breathability and comfort, and the collar can be buttoned closed standing for maximum protection should conditions require.
